Ahead of the upcoming monsoon season, South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager chaired a high-level safety review meeting at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, on June 1 to assess the zone’s preparedness and ensure safe, reliable and uninterrupted train operations across the railway network.
The meeting was attended by Additional General Manager Satya Prakash, Principal Heads of Departments, and Divisional Railway Managers of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Nanded divisions through video conferencing.
During the review, the General Manager directed officials to intensify preventive measures, including the trimming and removal of overgrown trees and vegetation near railway tracks and Overhead Equipment (OHE), to mitigate monsoon-related risks and ensure operational safety. Emphasising safety as the highest priority, he called for continuous monitoring, regular inspections, round-the-clock surveillance at vulnerable locations, and the immediate completion of all pending maintenance and repair works. Officials were also instructed to remain vigilant against any activities that could pose risks to train operations and to strictly adhere to established safety protocols.
The review focused on strengthening railway safety, improving infrastructure reliability, and ensuring seamless passenger and freight services across the South Central Railway network during the monsoon season.
