The Middle East conflict has intensified sharply after the United States launched fresh airstrikes targeting Iranian military and an under-construction nuclear-related site following the killing of two American service members. Iran responded with waves of drones and missiles targeting U.S. bases and strategic infrastructure across the Gulf

In one of the most significant developments, Kuwait confirmed that an Iranian strike damaged a major power and water desalination plant, disrupting critical infrastructure in the water-scarce Gulf nation. Authorities are assessing the extent of the damage while emergency teams work to restore normal operations

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said the Iranian site reportedly hit by the U.S. did not contain nuclear material, indicating there is no immediate radiological threat. However, the agency continues to monitor the situation closely.

The latest exchange has heightened fears of a wider regional war, with Bahrain and Jordan intercepting incoming drones and missiles, while shipping through the Strait of Hormuz remains under severe threat. The escalation has raised concerns over global energy supplies and regional security.
