In a high-level review meeting held at the Devasthanam Department's main office in Gollapudi, Andhra Pradesh, Dr. M. Hari Jawaharlal instructed officials to expand online services in temples to provide more convenient services to devotees, along with 22 prominent temple executive officers.
He suggested introducing new earned services in line with contemporary needs. Speaking on this occasion, K. Ramachandra Mohan emphasized the need to effectively implement a 'Zero Waste Disposal Policy' in temples. He recommended managing the waste generated from temples in environmentally friendly ways without transporting it to dumping yards.
Additionally, he directed officials to rapidly implement rooftop water harvesting systems, biogas units, piped gas facilities, and solar power projects in every temple. The Commissioner mentioned that best practices successfully implemented in one temple, as per the Chief Minister's suggestions, should also be adopted in other temples across the state. He recommended expanding online services through volunteers, social media promotions, and spiritual programs. During the meeting, relevant officials provided details on the progress of development works in prominent temples such as Vijayawada, Srisailam, Annavaram, Simhachalam, Dwaraka Tirumala, Sri Kalahasti, and Kanipakam.
