Telangana Rashtra Samithi president Kavitha stated that the current generation must fully understand the atrocities committed during British rule and the 'divide and rule' conspiracies employed by British rulers to divide Indian society. She emphasized that only by correctly understanding history can we build a stronger future for the country.
Kavitha unveiled the national flag at the 80th Independence Day celebrations held at the Telangana Rashtra Samithi state office. On this occasion, she launched a severe critique of British rule, alleging that Indian soldiers were forcibly used in both World Wars, resulting in the loss of thousands of lives.
Kavitha criticized that the policies of British rulers exacerbated caste divisions within Indian society. She stated that the tribal communities, who were living peacefully in the forests with their traditional lifestyles, were subjected to severe injustices by being brought into the administrative system.
Why does 'Gulagiri' still exist even after the British left?
Kavitha expressed disappointment that although the British rulers left the country, their mindset has not completely vanished. She commented that the continued perception of English speakers as superior and the devaluation of those who speak the mother tongue Telugu is a reflection of the slave mentality of that era.
She called for the abandonment of the mindset that creates differences among people based on skin color, language, and caste. Kavitha urged to move forward with the ideals of freedom fighters, embracing equality, self-respect, and social unity.
Her speech conveyed the message, “The country has gained political freedom, but our thoughts must also achieve complete freedom.”
