New Delhi: The political battle inside Parliament has intensified, with Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju launching a sharp attack on Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and challenging him to face Home Minister Amit Shah in the House.
Rijiju accused Rahul Gandhi and the Opposition of demanding a debate while allegedly avoiding the government’s offer for a discussion. “Don’t run away,” Rijiju said, urging the Congress leader to participate in the parliamentary debate and put his questions directly before the government.
The confrontation comes amid a major standoff over the ongoing student protests and allegations surrounding police action. The government has indicated that it is ready for a discussion and has offered a statement from Home Minister Amit Shah, but the Opposition continues to press for its demands.
The BJP minister’s remarks have added fresh heat to an already explosive political face-off. Rijiju’s message was blunt: if Rahul Gandhi wants answers from Amit Shah, he should come to the floor of Parliament and confront the Home Minister through a full-fledged debate rather than continuing the deadlock.
The Opposition, meanwhile, has accused the government of avoiding accountability over the handling of the student protests. Rahul Gandhi has previously targeted Amit Shah over the issue and demanded responsibility for the alleged police crackdown.
With both sides refusing to back down, Parliament has turned into the latest battleground between the BJP-led government and the Congress-led Opposition. Rijiju’s “don’t run away” challenge has now raised the stakes, setting the stage for another potentially explosive face-off between Rahul Gandhi and Amit Shah inside Parliament.
