As Telangana reels under intense summer heat, a different kind of fire is spreading across the state — public anger. While temperatures soar, ministers, public representatives, and officials are facing sharp criticism for allegedly staying confined indoors, far removed from the ground realities. Villages are struggling, but leadership presence on the field remains minimal, triggering outrage among citizens.
The situation has turned alarming in the paddy procurement system. Farmers across multiple districts are accusing authorities of serious irregularities at procurement centers. From arbitrary rejection of produce citing moisture levels to manipulation in weighing and delayed payments, the grievances are mounting. For farmers who toiled day and night, the denial of fair procurement has become unbearable.
Frustration has now spilled onto the streets. In several districts, farmers have launched protests, staging sit-ins outside procurement centers and blocking roads. Visuals of farmers dumping paddy on roads in protest highlight the severity of the crisis. Slogans demanding justice are echoing, with warnings that the agitation will intensify if immediate action is not taken.
Meanwhile, the response from the administration has been sluggish, further fueling tensions. Instead of swift intervention, officials are accused of being stuck in bureaucratic delays. The lack of urgency is not only worsening the crisis but also eroding public trust in governance
