HYDERABAD, July 1:
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy launched a sharp political attack on the BJP, ridiculing its claim of coming to power in the state and asserting that Telangana would not fall for what he described as the party's political tactics.
Addressing party workers, Revanth Reddy took aim at the BJP's leadership after the party expressed confidence about winning the next Assembly elections in Telangana. Mocking the BJP's optimism, the Chief Minister said the party may have used similar strategies elsewhere, but Telangana's political landscape is different.
"Your tricks may have worked on Mamata, but they will not work in Telangana. Our cadre is alert and ready to take on every challenge," he said, in an apparent reference to the BJP's political battles in West Bengal. Revanth Reddy also questioned the BJP's repeated claims of forming the next government, saying elections are won through public trust and governance, not political slogans or tall promises.
The BJP, however, maintained that it is rapidly expanding its base in Telangana and remains confident of emerging as a strong alternative in the state. Party leaders accused the Chief Minister of making dismissive remarks out of fear of the BJP's growing influence. The exchange marks another escalation in the ongoing political war of words between the Congress and the BJP as both parties sharpen their campaign ahead of the next Telangana Assembly elections.
