: A major security scare has rocked Andhra Pradesh after Counter-Intelligence officials detained three youths in Vijayawada over suspected terror links and alleged pro-terror propaganda on social media.
The detained individuals—Mohammed Rahamatullah Sharif, Mirza Sohail Baig, and Mohammed Danish—are currently under intense interrogation by intelligence agencies. Officials revealed that the trio had allegedly been expressing support for terrorist activities online, raising serious concerns about radicalization networks operating within the state. Preliminary investigations suggest that the accused were in contact with handlers based in Pakistan. Authorities believe the group had developed connections through meetings at a mosque in the One Town area of Vijayawada, where they reportedly became acquainted. Intelligence sources further indicated that the trio was allegedly attempting to influence and radicalize local youth, with the aim of steering them toward extremist ideologies and possible terror activities. A case has been officially registered at Kothapeta Police Station, and security agencies are now widening their probe to uncover potential links, sleeper cells, and any larger network that may be operating behind the scenes. The incident has triggered widespread concern across Andhra Pradesh, with authorities on high alert to prevent any escalation or recruitment activities.
