A massive political showdown unfolded in Lucknow on Friday as Congress workers staged an aggressive protest against the Bharatiya Janata Party government over alleged “indecent and abusive” remarks made against Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi.

 According to Ajay Rai, party activists led by Lucknow District President Rudra Daman Singh “Bablu” gathered outside the VVIP Guest House and carried out a fierce demonstration, including burning an effigy of Uttar Pradesh minister Dinesh Pratap Singh.

The protest quickly turned tense as Congress leaders accused the police administration of trying to suppress what they called a “peaceful democratic protest.” Party workers alleged misbehavior and forceful action by police personnel, triggering heated confrontations at the protest site

. Congress leaders launched a blistering attack on the BJP, accusing its leaders of repeatedly using “undemocratic and insulting language” against opposition voices. The party asserted that Rahul Gandhi represents “the voice of crores of Indians” and warned that personal attacks against him would not be tolerated.

The BJP government may try to suppress dissent, but Congress workers will continue their fight from the streets to Parliament on issues concerning democracy and public interest,” party leaders declared during the protest.

 Several senior Congress leaders and activists participated in the agitation, including Shiv Bahadur Singh, Kaushalendra Singh, Sushil Sharma, Jitendra Tiwari, Dr. Richa Sharma, Aryan Mishra, Akeel Ahmed, Mahendra Rawat, Amit Bhardwaj, Sarita Shukla, Satish Pal, Manoj Bhargav and others.

The protest has further intensified the political confrontation between the Congress and BJP ahead of crucial political battles in Uttar Pradesh, with both sides exchanging sharp accusations over political language and democratic conduct.
