New Delhi | Breaking Political Statement

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has launched a sharp attack on the central government over alleged irregularities in NEET 2024, accusing the ruling establishment of shielding those responsible and rewarding them with promotions instead of accountability. In a strongly worded message aimed at India’s youth,

Rahul Gandhi asked students to independently verify reports related to alleged malpractices during NEET 2024, specifically referring to leadership in the National Testing Agency (NTA) at the time of the controversy. He alleged that during what he called the “NEET 2024 exam irregularities period,” the then top officials in the testing agency were not held accountable. Instead, he claimed, they were protected and later given continued positions of power under the current administration.

Targeting the government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he accused the ruling party of enabling a system where, in his words, “those responsible for damaging students’ futures are rewarded rather than punished.”

The Congress leader further claimed that this reflects a broader pattern of governance where accountability is absent and institutional failures are ignored. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has not issued a detailed response to these fresh allegations at the time of reporting. However, BJP leaders in earlier statements have consistently rejected similar claims, calling them politically motivated attacks aimed at discrediting national institutions.

The NEET examination system has faced scrutiny in recent years over alleged paper leaks, administrative lapses, and legal challenges in various states, triggering widespread concern among students and parents. As political confrontation intensifies, the issue is once again becoming a flashpoint between the opposition and the government, with students’ futures at the center of the debate.
