U.S. President Donald J. Trump has strongly criticized major American newspapers for what he called “misleading headlines” about U.S. tanker aircraft reportedly destroyed in an attack at a military base in Saudi Arabia. In a social media statement, Trump said reports claiming that five tanker planes were struck down and rendered unusable were inaccurate. He alleged that the base had been hit a few days earlier, but insisted that none of the aircraft were destroyed. According to Trump, four of the five planes sustained minimal damage and have already returned to service, while the fifth aircraft suffered slightly more damage but is expected to resume operations soon. Trump also accused leading publications, including The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, of spreading incorrect information about the incident. He alleged that the reports exaggerated the scale of the damage and misrepresented the actual situation at the base. The former president further claimed that such reporting undermines the United States during times of conflict and misleads the public about the country’s military position. The incident comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where attacks on military bases and strategic infrastructure have raised concerns about regional security
