NOIDA: The launch of the iPhone 18 Pro has triggered massive excitement across India, with Apple fans lining up outside stores from the early hours to get their hands on the latest device.
At the Apple Store inside DLF Mall of India in Noida, huge crowds gathered as buyers waited for their turn. But one Delhi man grabbed the spotlight after revealing that he sold gold to buy the iPhone 18 Pro as a gift for his wife.
The man said his wife wanted the Burgundy-coloured iPhone 18 Pro and had never used an iPhone before. Determined to surprise her, he decided to sell gold and use the money to purchase the phone.
āEarlier, I didnāt have money. Now I do. I donāt know if I will have it in the future. You have to live with the money you have today,ā he said while explaining his decision.
The iPhone craze was not limited to him. Gurditta Singh from Punjab travelled to Noida to buy an iPhone 18 Pro for his fiancĆ©e, while also purchasing an iPhone 18 Pro Max for himself. He reportedly spent more than ā¹3.5 lakh on the two phones and had been waiting outside the store since 6 a.m.
Couples, students, businessmen and employees were also seen queuing up to grab the new iPhones. Some even reportedly took leave from work to be at the store.
Despite the steep price, fans showed little hesitation. One woman said iPhone enthusiasts would continue buying the device even after the price hike.
However, not everyone went home happy. Customers who had not placed pre-orders were unable to purchase the phone on the day, leaving some disappointed after waiting in the queue.
