 The temple traces its origins to the 17th century and is closely associated with the ardent devotee Kancherla Gopanna, popularly known as Bhakta Ramadasu. Serving as a Tahsildar under the Golconda Sultanate, he utilized state funds to construct this magnificent shrine dedicated to Lord Rama, driven by unwavering devotion. His life and sacrifices continue to inspire millions of devotees.

Sacred Location

 Situated on the serene banks of the Godavari River, the temple is nestled atop the sacred Bhadra Hill. The tranquil surroundings and divine atmosphere make it a spiritually uplifting destination for pilgrims and tourists alike.

Unique Idol of Lord Rama

 The presiding deity at the temple is believed to be self-manifested (Swayambhu). Lord Rama appears here in a rare and distinctive form—with four arms holding the conch (Shankha) and discus (Chakra), while Goddess Sita Devi is seated on His lap. This unique depiction is seldom seen in other temples and holds deep spiritual significance.

Spiritual Importance
