Chennai | April 5, 2026 The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has expressed strong confidence about forming the next government in Tamil Nadu, citing growing public dissatisfaction with the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) over alleged corruption. Senior BJP leader and Rajya Sabha MP K. Laxman (often referred to as Kova Laxman) stated that the people of Tamil Nadu are seeking a political alternative, accusing the DMK government of failing to deliver transparent governance. “Corruption under the DMK regime has become a major concern for the public. The BJP is emerging as a credible and strong alternative in Tamil Nadu,” Laxman said while addressing party workers. He further emphasized that the BJP is expanding its grassroots presence across the state and is confident of capitalizing on anti-incumbency sentiment in the upcoming elections. The BJP, which has traditionally had limited electoral success in Tamil Nadu, has been making consistent efforts to strengthen its organizational base. Party leaders believe that issues such as governance, corruption, and development gaps could influence voters in their favor. Meanwhile, the DMK has repeatedly denied corruption allegations and maintains that its governance model focuses on welfare and inclusive growth.
