Thiruvananthapuram, April 6, 2026 In a sharp political attack, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi on Monday alleged that Kerala has witnessed “no significant development” over the past decade under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan
Addressing party workers and the public, Priyanka Gandhi accused the ruling Left government of failing to deliver on key promises related to infrastructure, employment, and welfare. She claimed that despite repeated assurances, the state has not seen transformative growth in crucial sectors.
“Kerala has immense potential, but the people have been denied real progress for the last ten years,” she said, directly targeting Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. She further alleged that issues like unemployment, rising debt, and lack of industrial expansion continue to burden the state.
The Congress leader also emphasized that the opposition will continue to hold the government accountable and raise public concerns more aggressively in the coming months.
The ruling Left Democratic Front (LDF), however, has consistently defended its governance record, highlighting achievements in healthcare, education, and social welfare schemes.
The political temperature in Kerala is expected to rise further as parties gear up for upcoming electoral battles, with sharp exchanges becoming increasingly frequent between the Congress-led opposition and the ruling LDF.
