The South Central Railway (SCR) has recorded major progress in railway safety and capacity enhancement during 2025–26, surpassing targets in both Kavach 4.0 field trials and Automatic Block Signalling (ABS) commissioning. SCR completed Kavach 4.0 field trials over 487 Route Kilometres, exceeding the Railway Board target of 402 Route Kilometres.
The trials were conducted in sections including Kazipet–Peddampet, Malkajgiri–Kamareddi, Charlapalli–Raghunathpalli, Guntakal–Raichur, and Mudkhed–Parbhani.
The zone also commissioned Automatic Block Signalling over 479 Route Kilometres, surpassing the target of 357 Route Kilometres, in sections such as Kazipet–Balharshah, Vijayawada–Duvvada, and Wadi–Renigunta. SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava praised the Signal & Telecommunications teams and said both Kavach and ABS would continue to receive top priority in the current financial year.
