Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Monday urged Members of Parliament from Telangana to work unitedly for the state's larger interests and secure pending approvals and clearances from the Centre for key infrastructure and irrigation projects
. Addressing MPs during a meeting held at Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan ahead of the Parliament session, the Chief Minister stressed the need to rise above political affiliations and jointly pursue projects crucial for Telangana's growth. He assured MPs that the state government would provide all necessary information and support irrespective of party lines.
Revanth Reddy highlighted several priority projects requiring intervention at the Centre, including the establishment of an Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Hyderabad, expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-II, approvals for the Regional Ring Road (RRR), Musi River rejuvenation works and inter-state water projects. He urged MPs to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers concerned to expedite approvals and funding
. The Chief Minister said the Centre had agreed to appoint SBICAPS as consultant for the Hyderabad Metro expansion and requested MPs to ensure the process moves quickly. He specifically appealed to BJP MPs Etala Rajender and Konda Vishweshwar Reddy to pursue the matter with the Union government.
On irrigation and water-sharing issues, Revanth Reddy said Telangana was seeking cooperation from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Chhattisgarh to improve water availability through desiltation, river-linking projects and pending clearances. He also revealed that alignments for proposed bullet train corridors connecting Hyderabad with Bengaluru, Chennai and Mumbai were progressing, while land acquisition for airports at Adilabad and Warangal had already been completed.
To improve coordination with MPs, the Chief Minister announced that IAS officer Advait Kumar Singh had been appointed at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi to provide data and documentation required for raising issues in Parliament. Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated that the state government would continue to work with the Centre in the spirit of cooperative federalism to secure Telangana's interest
