In a chilling revelation, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet in a high-risk bio-terror conspiracy case involving three accused, including Hyderabad-based doctor Syed Ahmed Mohiuddin from Rajendranagar. The case is linked to the global terror outfit ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria), raising serious concerns over public safety and national security.
According to investigators, the accused allegedly plotted to carry out a mass poisoning attack in crowded public places using ricin, a highly toxic biological agent. Ricin, even in minute quantities, can be fatal, making the conspiracy particularly dangerous. The NIA’s probe uncovered disturbing details of how the group planned to deploy the substance to cause large-scale casualties.
Officials revealed that the agency has submitted a comprehensive chargesheet backed by strong forensic and digital evidence, highlighting the extent of planning and radical links of the accused. The investigation points to a coordinated effort inspired by extremist ideology, with potential targets being densely populated civilian areas.
Security agencies have termed the case as one of the most serious bio-terror threats intercepted in recent times in India. The NIA has emphasized that swift action and intelligence coordination helped avert a possible catastrophe.
The matter is now before the court, with further legal proceedings expected as authorities continue to tighten surveillance against terror-linked activities across the country.
