: In a major development, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has been acquitted in the long-pending 2008 Railway Recruitment Board examination violence case by a Thane court. 

The case was related to alleged incidents during the 2008 railway recruitment drive at Kalyan station, where MNS workers were accused of assaulting job aspirants and creating unrest

. Raj Thackeray was one of the accused in the matter. After nearly 18 years of legal proceedings, the court found insufficient evidence to prove the charges against him and delivered a clean acquittal.During earlier hearings,

Thackeray had consistently denied all allegations and maintained that he was not present at the spot during the incident. The verdict marks a significant conclusion to one of the most politically sensitive cases linked to the 2008 recruitment agitation.
